Leicestershire Removals

Coverage

The county, area by area

Eight parts of Leicestershire, the towns and villages under each, and an honest note on what each one is like to get a vehicle into — which is the part that changes your day.

Leicester city

City centre · Clarendon Park · Stoneygate · Highfields · Aylestone

Victorian and Edwardian terrace at scale, plus student houses and city-centre flats. Parking is the whole question, and a permit or a suspended bay is often the answer.

Oadby, Wigston & the south

Oadby · Wigston · Kibworth · Great Glen

Interwar and postwar suburbs with drives, plus village streets towards Market Harborough. Among the easiest access in the county.

Loughborough & the north

Loughborough · Shepshed · Quorn · Barrow upon Soar

University town and the Soar valley villages. Loughborough itself has its own removals firm and we link to them for purely local work.

Hinckley & the west

Hinckley · Earl Shilton · Burbage · Market Bosworth

Market-town centres with narrow cores, newer estates on the edges, and the M69 corridor which makes the west of the county quick to reach.

Melton & the Wolds

Melton Mowbray · Asfordby · Bottesford · the Vale of Belvoir

Stone and brick village houses, farm conversions and lanes that decide the vehicle. Further from the motorway than anywhere else we cover.

Market Harborough & the south-east

Market Harborough · Lutterworth · Broughton Astley

Georgian town centres with restricted loading, and commuter villages along the A6 and M1 where the mornings empty early.

Coalville & the National Forest

Coalville · Ibstock · Ashby-de-la-Zouch · Measham

Former coalfield towns and the newer estates around them, with Ashby the most period-heavy stock in the west of the county.

The Charnwood villages

Rothley · Mountsorrel · Anstey · Woodhouse Eaves

Granite, slopes and narrow lanes on the edge of Charnwood Forest. Beautiful, and slower to work in than the map suggests.

What county-wide means here

Mostly that cross-county work is normal rather than exceptional: a Harborough house to a Charnwood village, a city terrace out to Ashby, a Melton farmhouse into Leicester. Those cross different roads and different access problems and want one plan rather than two.

It also means being honest about the limits. A firm working one town every day knows things we do not, and Loughborough has exactly such a firm.

Loughborough

removals-loughborough.co.uk covers that town daily — the student streets, the one-way system, the terraces. For a move that starts and finishes inside Loughborough they are the better call. For Loughborough to anywhere else, that is our work.

Rutland and the edges

Oakham and Uppingham are a short run from Melton and we treat Rutland as part of the natural catchment. Similarly the Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire fringes — Long Eaton, Nuneaton, Atherstone — are ordinary work, though each of those counties has its own network firm for local moves.

Beyond the county

Long-distance removals go anywhere in Britain from a Leicestershire load — the M1, M69 and A46 make the first hour straightforward in every direction. And European moves run to four countries, with the customs file prepared here.

Another firm on the same county

leicestershire-removals.uk is a separate company covering the same ground in a different style. If that is who you were looking for, that is where they are.

Worth knowing

Coverage questions, answered plainly

Which parts of the county are hardest to work in?

Leicester city centre and the older terraces, for parking rather than for the buildings, and the Charnwood lanes where a full-size vehicle genuinely may not fit. Both are routine once they are planned.

Do you charge more for village addresses?

Only where there is real extra distance, or where a shuttle is needed because the vehicle cannot reach the property. Both appear on the quote with the reason attached.

How far outside Leicestershire will you go?

For a full move, anywhere in the UK. For small jobs and collections, the neighbouring counties are routine — Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.

Do you cover Rutland?

Yes. Oakham and Uppingham are a short run from Melton and we treat them as part of the natural catchment, even though they are over the county line.

Not sure we reach you? Ask rather than assume.

If your village is not named here it is almost certainly still covered. One email settles it.
