Legal
Privacy policy
Written to be read rather than to satisfy a template. If a line is unclear, ask and we will put it in plainer words.
This policy explains what Leicestershire Removals does with personal information collected through this website and in the ordinary course of quoting for and carrying out removals, packing and storage across Leicestershire.
Who is responsible
Leicestershire Removals is the data controller. Questions, requests and complaints go to hello@leicestershireremovals.uk, where a person reads them.
What we collect
The quote form
Name, phone number, email address, pickup address, drop-off address, an optional moving date and optional notes — collected to answer your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to carry out the work.
Calls, emails and surveys
Whatever you choose to tell us plus the contact details you use, and where a survey happens, notes on volume, access, stairs and parking.
Storage
An inventory of the goods held, the storage agreement and the contact details needed to reach you. We must identify you before releasing anything, so these are kept while goods are with us and for a period afterwards.
Site visits
Server logs and, where analytics is enabled, aggregate page measurement. No advertising trackers and no cross-site profiling.
Why we may hold it
- To answer an enquiry you made.
- To perform the contract once a booking exists.
- Legitimate interests: job records, protecting staff and vehicles, and understanding which pages are useful.
- Legal obligation, for accounting and tax records.
Spam protection
The quote form uses Google reCAPTCHA to filter automated submissions; it receives technical signals from your browser under Google's own terms.
Who else sees it
- Hosting and email providers acting on our instructions.
- Insurers, where a claim arises.
- Customs authorities and clearing agents on a European move, where the inventory and residence documents are the basis of clearance.
- Our accountant, and anybody we are legally required to inform.
We do not sell enquiry data or pass it to other removals firms or lead brokers. Where we refer you to the Loughborough town firm, we give you their details rather than giving them yours.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not become work are kept for a reasonable period, then deleted. Completed-job records are kept for accounting, insurance and claims purposes; storage records while goods are held and for a period after redelivery.
Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, objection and portability — email hello@leicestershireremovals.uk and it will be handled within the statutory period. Where something cannot be deleted, such as an inventory of goods in store or records inside a legal retention period, we will say which category applies. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Cookies
No marketing or advertising cookies are set here. Analytics, where enabled, sets measurement cookies only, and blocking them affects nothing.
Changes
Material changes appear on this page. The terms applying to a specific job are those issued with your quote. See also our terms.
